Pet Portrait Photo Guidelines

How to Take the Perfect Photo for Your Portrait

Good lighting is key: Try to click the photo in natural daylight or in a well-lit room.

Keep it clear: Use a sharp, high-quality image—a smartphone works perfectly! Dont use screen shots or images shared on social media.

Face & neck in full view: Make sure your pet’s face and neck are fully visible.

Close-ups work best: Natural, up-close shots help us capture all those little details you love.

Eye-level magic: Photos where your pet is looking straight at the camera usually turn out the best.

Avoid These Common Photo Mistakes

No shadows or blockages: Make sure nothing is covering your pet’s face or features.

No blurry photos: Clear, sharp pictures help us create the best portrait.

Skip the heavy filters: We want to capture your pet’s true colors, just the way they are.

No angled faces: Try to avoid photos where your pet’s head is turned too far to the side—it’s best when we can see their full, straight-on face.

Not too close, not too far: Make sure your pet isn’t too zoomed in or too far away. A nice, balanced shot helps us capture all their details just right.
